The Observatory features a handicap assessable walking trail, wonderful gift shop, and a window on wildlife where bird feeders and a lovely waterfall attract birds year-round. BSBO offers wonderful maps of local birding areas and up to date information on where and when to look for birds. The Observatory is open year-round Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and additional hours seasonally. We are located just 30 minutes west of Port Clinton on State Route 2.

Ohio’s only National Wildlife Refuge, Ottawa NWR features an amazing visitor’s center, hiking trails, boardwalks, and a monthly auto tour that allows visitors to drive a route through an area of the marsh normally off limits.

A visitor’s center, walking trails, and a wonderful boardwalk through a beautiful marsh are features of this area. This is a wonderful place to observe wildlife such as White-tail Deer, Mink, Muskrats, Swans, and Bald Eagles.
